Dr Sorcha Annette Wilcox is an Irish-Australian photography artist and musical performer with a PhD from Deakin University.

Her work investigates photographic processes, often with integration of soundscapes. Key interests lie in the development of fields through creative material, and new lines of logic that can be created from abstractions of this material.

She has been working with Melbourne musicians to create 1980s inspired album covers and promotional photographs, and photographing live performances. Her photographic skill set extends from large format film, studio lighting and darkroom practices, to high end medium format digital and AI processes.

Sorcha is also a musical performer including electric guitar, bass guitar, and vocal performances, and composes and performs with Aardvark, Fly, Dowser, and various other collaborations.

Sorcha is currently a Teaching Fellow of Photography and Visual Arts in School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University.
